We are seeking a Senior Information Security Manager to work on new and exciting products. Akamai's application acceleration systems aim to improve the performance and reliability of how applications perform over U.S. Government networks. You'll work with some of the industry's top engineers, building one of the world's largest distributed systems.

As a Senior Information Security Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining information security policies, procedures, and controls aligning with industry best practices/regulatory requirements.

  • Overseeing ISSOs under their purview to ensure established policies and procedures are implemented.

  • Conducting thorough risk assessments to identify security gaps and ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Ensuring the proper application of security incident response processes, including investigation, mitigation, and reporting.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement security controls and countermeasures to mitigate identified risks.

  • Creating compelling content for various channels, including social media, email, and website, to engage target audiences.

  • Staying current on emerging threats/trends in information security and drive recommendations to enhancing the security posture.

  • Engaging in security and compliance-based auditing; applying RMF, SRG/STIGs, SCAP, ACAS.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • 8 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Possess U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance (Secret).

  • Have a current DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level I cert (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC).

  • Have in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management methodologies, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, NISPOM, RMF, DAAPM).

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, where you communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with Linux, Cisco ISE, ACAS, RMF, eMASS, Trellix/ESS, and familiarity with ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), is ideal.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $108,900 - $226,100/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
