Senior Immigration Paralegal (Temporary) - (Seattle or Minneapolis)

We are seeking an experiencedTemporary Senior Immigration Paralegalin our Minneapolis or Seattle office. In this role, you will assist with all types of employment-based immigration cases, with a strong focus on PERM process and review of petitions and applications. This role will last a minimum of six months. Do you love working in a dynamic environment? Are you an excellent communicator and self-starter? If so, then we would appreciate hearing from you.

This is a hybrid position that will require at least 1-2 days per week working in the office.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist attorneys with employment-based immigration cases. These include drafting, preparing, and filing of employment–based immigration applications, briefs and legal documents e.g. H-1B, L, E, TN, O, PERM, I-140, I-485 and other projects, to be filed with USCIS, CBP, and consular offices.

  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information from various governmental agencies and AILA sites.

  • Start and manage assigned cases with limited supervision. Review Visa Bulletin, Processing Time, Case Status, visa expiration dates and other timelines for clients.

  • Communicate with clients as needed.

  • Docket and maintain information on LawLogix.

  • May perform other duties not listed above.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate.

  • At least 5 years of relevant employment-based immigration law experience, particularly working with a high volume of PERM cases.

  • Self-starter, strong writing skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.

  • Deep understanding of employment-based immigration processes.

  • Proven analytical ability, highly professional demeanor and work ethic.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Strong technical skills.

Preferred:

Large law firm experience; general Labor and Employment experience is a bonus.

LawLogix or comparable immigration law software experience; strong research skills.

The pay range for this position in Seattle only is $37.00 to $60.00 per hour.

This range represents Dorsey’s good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and location and may fall outside of the range indicated.
