Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

Excentium, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) that provides Cyber Security Engineering, Information Assurance (IA), management, Certification and Accreditation (C&A), and other IT services to government and commercial organizations.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst supporting one of our government customers remotely.

MINIMUM CLEARANCE LEVEL : Public Trust (CBP Active Highly Desired) CITIZENSHIP: US Citizenship LOCATION: Remote.

This program will deliver engineering services for network infrastructure as well as sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end-point devices, data center hosted servers, multi-Cloud services as well as virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology including containerized solutions with orchestrated workflow that function both on customer premises, and via remote Cloud services. Network infrastructure engineering services are comprised of core infrastructure, voice and video engineering, field engineering, application management and development for networks, network analytics, firewalls, network access controls and bandwidth service delivery. The Information Security Engineer will support IA Analysts through the implementation of security policy and system/application security standards. The Security Engineer will be knowledgeable of and experienced in the implementation of DoD and Federal security and IA requirements as outlined in DoDI 8500.2, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIGs and will have experience with Federal customers Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS), PKI, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) policies and standards. Primarily focused on protecting the security, privacy, and compliance of cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and data. This team works closely with other teams (e.g., ECIS Scrum Teams, CBP OIT SOC, Application/Service Teams etc.) to integrate security measures (e.g., IAM) seamlessly into cloud operations, reducing risk and enhancing the overall security posture across all the cloud environments utilized by CBP. Position Description:

  • Provide the support for task requirements for Cybersecurity System Engineering Support, Cybersecurity Network Domain Certification, Accreditation Support, and Cross Domain Solution (CDS) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Support.

  • Provide support of cybersecurity network domain Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) support and execution activities, including multiple customer systems on the unclassified with CAC/PIV.

  • Performs Cyber Security Operational duties to ensure the appropriate ongoing operations of systems, processes, and policies within the Cyber Security Team.

  • This includes functions such as monitoring, upgrading, day-to-day maintenance, operational changes, etc. in support of projects / initiatives / operations to ensure effective and efficient operations.

  • Ensure the ongoing efficient and effective operations of the assigned systems, processes, and procedures to fully meet the control objectives.

  • Analyze system/network information and develop defense measures to eliminate or reduce the effect of cybersecurity threats.

    Position Requirements:

  • Has extensive IT experience with Cyber Security Policy and threat mitigation.

  • Well versed in network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks.

  • Poses a high level of expertise in developing long term strategies and is knowledgeable about various cyber threats and their mitigation.

  • Extensive working knowledge of NIST and Federal information system security guidance, processes, and methodologies.

    Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering

  • 8 years’ experience working in Cybersecurity.

  • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst-CSA or

  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner CASP or CISSP

    One of the following certifications:

    • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification
