Responsibilities

  • Maintain and analyse product costing and related variances for the Stratford and Fergus operations.

  • Review BOM’s and monthly inventory transactions for accuracy.

  • Maintain cycle count system and follow up on significant variances.

  • Responsible for developing the proposed changes to the standard material, direct labour and overhear rates.

  • Responsible for developing the proposed manufacturing budget as part of the annual Plan process.

  • Coordinate and complete the annual cost roll.

  • Work with other departments to maintain accurate manufacturing costs and inventory.

  • Create and distribute reports that monitor the manufacturing activities against forecast, Plan and prior year.

  • Work with other departments to identify, develop and implement improvements to the product and manufacturing costs.

  • Assist with the monthly accounting period close activities with timely and accurate reporting thru journal entries and analysis of variances to Plan & forecast .

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of cost accounting using a standard cost system

  • Experience developing financial manufacturing reports and metrics

  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels

  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of SAP an asset.

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • Effective verbal and written communication

  • Conversant in French an asset

    Ideal candidate would possess a CPA with at least 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Years of Experience

Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or training
