Sales & Marketing Manager – Lake Charles Event Center

Summary: Solicit venue sponsorships, group sales, and special event opportunities. Maintain customer and sponsor database and tracking system. Works to create, execute and maintain marketing functions to maximize effectiveness and achieve ticket sales goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities .

  • Solicit venue sponsorships, group sales, and special event opportunities.

  • Create and distribute “Return on Investment Report” for all venue sponsors.

  • Provide weekly updates to General Manager.

  • Prepare sponsorship and advertisement proposals as needed.

  • Conduct “cold calls”, receive referrals, follow up on all existing clients and look for opportunity to “upsell” existing clients.

  • Handle fulfillment of Sponsorship contracts.

  • Maintains database and tracking system of current and potential sponsors.

  • To outline: Client Name, Sponsor Deliverables, Ending Terms, Renewal or deadline, Payments, Invoice dates, etc.

  • Ensure all executed copies of contracts are placed on the shared drive and hard copy retained in master file.

  • Send out all surveys to patrons after all ticketed events.

  • Develops Marketing Plans, which include grassroots initiatives, social media, and eblasts.

  • Coordinates confirmed event announce, presale and on sale schedule by localizing artwork as needed, scheduling content for social media and eblasts, etc.

  • Help implement and maintain outreach to major organizations within the community to grow databases.

  • Curates unique and captivating content for monthly social media calendar.

  • Maintains a professional and courteous attitude in all dealings with patrons, promoters, vendors, co-workers, and senior management.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

    Skills Required

  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

  • Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.

  • Software Proficiency: Be proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and any other relevant design tools.

  • Quality Control: Ensure that all materials adhere to branding guidelines and are of high quality in terms of resolution, color accuracy, and design.

  • Must be able to stand/walk for the duration of shift and must be able to carry and lift according to industry standards.

    Working Conditions

Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Physical requirements include feel and reach with hands and arms, walking, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods of time.
