AvantGarde, LLC REMOTE - Performance & Compensation Consultant in United States

AvantGarde, LLC (AG) seeks to engage a Performance and Compensation Management Consultant who remotely supports administration and management of our federal client’s performance management and compensation system by researching, designing, analyzing, and developing policy to implement and maintain its compensation and performance management programs and tools.

AG offers a comprehensive benefit package including a monthly commuter benefit (for those occasional visits on-site) as well as immediate medical enrollment and a generous 401k. This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. Work is done remotely in your home with the occasional need to come onsite at the client offices in NW Washington, D.C (Golden Triangle area).

The WORK

  • Support the administration of the agency’s annual performance evaluation process and other cyclical activities such as merit pay pools and performance data reporting by performing quality assurance on submitted electronic and hardcopy documents, tracking progress reviews, reviewing records and documents, and preparing summaries of information to prepare for further analysis and processes.

  • Reviewed and updated documents on plan features for the executive performance plan. Incorporated changes into program/plan documents. Prepared presentation for briefing the Chairman to obtain approval to implement the Executive plan Jan 1, 2024. Chairman approved implementation of new executive plan for January 2024.

  • Reviewed draft announcement memos for executives transitioning to the new plan and one for executives remaining in current 2 level plan. Discussed strategy and approach for rolling out the changes.

  • Attended weekly PMPR team meetings and completed action items as requested.

  • Review performance standards and appraisals to ensure they are in accordance with existing policies and regulations.

  • Performed regular UAT for 23 – 24 Form – 442, updated and managed SF system and Attended weekly SuccessFactors calls with vendor to finalize 23 – 24 Form – 442

  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on the agency’s incentive award program, suggestion program, and performance management system.

  • Contribute to the development and modification of performance and compensation management related procedures to ensure effectiveness in support of agency goals.

  • Assist in the creation and execution of communication strategies and plans to promote performance management and compensation programs.

  • Support the development of employee recognition and incentive award programs by conducting analytical studies of performance management outcomes and pay metrics using spreadsheets, data bases and/or statistical software.

The REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Human Resources, writing, English or related field strongly preferred.

  • 3+ years of recent experience serving in a HR Specialist/Performance and Compensation capacity providing support to federal agencies.

  • 3+ years of “hands on” performance and compensation experience with a high level of skill analyzing and implementing performance management and compensation programs in a pay-for performance environment.

  • Experience with performance management systems, SAP SuccessFactors preferred.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Excellent verbal skills to respond to technical questions regarding compensation and performance.

  • Excellent writing skills with specific attention to detail and demonstrated experience drafting written documents and communication.

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, research and demonstrated customer service skills.

  • Flexibility with the approach to delivery of work.

  • Prior federal government experience preferred.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, e-OPF, National Finance Center (NFC) payroll/personnel system, and webTA.

  • Must be able to occasionally commute to NW Washington, DC for work on site.

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, post fingerprint/criminal background check process required; active or recent federal security clearance preferred.
