Overview

The Provider Analytics Research Analyst-Senior supports business units by conducting analysis to understand the drivers of business performance. The Research Analyst-Senior is expected to develop data based recommendations for solutions and processes to improve the Independent Health members’ health outcomes, to improve their access to higher quality care, to improve their own engagement in managing their health condition, to improve their ability to access affordable healthcare, or to improve their healthcare experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a quantitative/research discipline preferred. Master’s degree preferred. An additional four (4) years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Five (5) years of analytics experience required. Experience in a managed health care environment preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Independent Health EDW, Health Rules, and Power data and structures preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Healthcare data and Healthcare concepts.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and other tools used for AWS query and reporting SAS skills.

  • Advanced understanding of data warehouse and structured data models, established understanding of both medical and pharmacy data and managed care coding.

  • Advanced knowledge of data mining concepts (courses or certification) and statistical methods.

  • Advanced knowledge of data mining tools: SQL, SAS, R, Access, Other.

  • Advanced knowledge of reporting tools: Excel, Cognos, ArcGIS.

  • Advanced knowledge of industry analytical concepts (courses or certification).

  • Ability to frame questions that create value for the business partners.

  • Ability to present and communicate output and analysis in a meaningful way that meets the understanding needs of the business partners.

  • Ability to lead and work with minimal supervision on major projects. Ability to work on multiple complex projects at one time and translate business need into requirements and reporting needs.

  • Ability to work with at least one of the less-common data sources such as lab results, immunization datasets, EMR data, ADT data, Aeriel or unstructured data.

  • Ability to train and lead junior analysts.

  • Ability to innovate and enhance existing solutions.

  • Proven examples of displaying the IH values: Passionate, Caring, Respectful, Trustworthy, Collaborative and Accountable.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Maintain a close working relationship with Provider Engagement, NCM, PHM, PCP Value, and SCP Value Teams.

  • Support the development, maintenance, and issue resolution of PCP Attribution and PCP Affiliation.

  • Develop and assist in the development of SCP Attribution.

  • Assist in the development of provider related extracts.

  • Regularly assess best practices in regard to analyzing provider performance, how other entities are reporting, and available tools to assist in provider performance reporting.

  • Maintain a standardized process that will serve as a consistent method to producing Practitioner and Practice Performance Reporting for Cost and Quality of Care.

  • Support Transparency of practitioner related performance.

  • Address provider related data requests that pertain to efficiency and effectiveness performance.

  • Support provider related regulatory, portal metrics, contracts, special arrangements, and incentives.

  • Work with other informatics teams to establish data lineages and relationships as they pertain to provider level datasets.

  • Provide practitioner/practice/specialty trending related to the efficiency and quality of care.

  • Develop and maintain a standardized process for reporting practitioner related potential saving opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain a standardized process to analyze ROI of practitioner related contracts, initiatives, and special arrangements.

  • Utilize and modify the enterprise level reports to establish practitioner analytics.

  • Assist in the automation of all reporting.

  • Assist in the development of provider 360.

  • Checks work to validate data and findings and delivers work according to department SOPs.

Hiring Compensation Range: $85,000 - $92,597 annually

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
