Project Accountant – Generation Division (Hybrid)

POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a Project Accountant with a combined interest in Project Controls for our Generation Project Controls and Support Services team in Oradell, NJ, Overland Park, KS, or Boise ID with the opportunity to work in a hybrid workstyle setting. (Combination of home and office).

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

The Project Accountant works with Project Managers on the financial management of projects. The ideal candidate has basic accounting knowledge and interacts with key members of the project teams. The Project Accountant manages the financial side of the project including the proposal/budget, project initiation, expenditure tracking, invoicing, financial status reports, management of unbilled costs, purchase requisitions, percent complete updates, accounts receivable, etc. This individual will also work with Project Managers on contracts, subcontracts, and change order documents.

  • Decision making skills, ability to work in a team environment, follow directions, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise good judgment are required to successfully handle these responsibilities. The individual should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, have a client service attitude, as well as strong organization, communication, and document coordination skills

  • Works within POWER’s ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning (Proposal/budget, project initiation, expenditure tracking, invoicing, status reports, management of unbilled costs, purchase requisitions, percent complete updates, accounts receivable, etc.)

  • Prepares Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and releases emails for project information

  • Assists other Team members with a project deliverable if/when needed

  • Assists with subcontractor/vendor process

  • Acts as a liaison between POWER and clients as required

  • Maintains project folders and ensuring document/record transfer information into ProjectWise

  • Attends project meetings (internal or with the client) at the Project Manager’s discretion

Required Education/Experience

  • One (1) to Three (3) years of applicable experience

  • Solid organization skills including quality, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Strong communication and writing skills.

  • Must be Self-motivated with a proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel is required

  • Detailed knowledge of project contracts and change order documents is preferred

  • Microsoft Dynamics experience is preferred
