CyberData Technologies is looking to hire a Database Administrator to add to our database administrator team to work with a team of IT professionals for an IT support contract for the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Clinical Trials Database (CTDB), working in an environment with mature change management processes including peer reviews, Atlassian products, and version control through GIT. Successful candidates must:

  • Support the data migration from various systems to CTDB;

  • Develop SQL report queries and data extracts to external systems;

  • Revise/update transformation of data from application schemas to reporting schemas;

  • Assist with data mart design, development, creation and maintenance;

  • Assist with the monitoring and support of the relational database services ensuring accessibility, recoverability, and performance;

  • Support migration of data services to AWS and PaaS solutions;

  • Assist with the monitoring and tuning of the Oracle databases to ensure performance and accessibility requirements are met;

  • Perform system administration tasks on Solaris, Linux, and Windows hosts which run the Oracle services;

  • Support the upgrades and maintenance cycles for the release of Oracle CPU and Oracle off cycle patches;

  • Assist with the creation of database schemas to support new application development for NICHD DIR applications;

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of test database instances for Java developers and other users and testing users of NICHD DIR applications;

  • Monitor and support Oracle’s RMAN for Oracle backup and recovery of critical NICHD system data; Provide RMAN encryption for files secure storing of backup files and other NICHD critical information; Support back-up system for storing RMAN and other application related information to disk for short term storage and tape for long term storage.

  • Provide DBA support to Java developers, other users and testing users;

  • Assist with the creation and update of technical documentation to include operating procedures and configuration guides

    Required Skills (include but not limited to) :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Related Field

  • 5+ years of Relational Database Management Systems, Data Engineering and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes

  • Significant Experience with SQL scripting / Strong SQL/PLSQL writing skills

  • Database monitoring, performance tuning, and administration

  • Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software and hardware related problems

  • Experience with Oracle and Postress a plus

  • Familiarity with an NIH environment a plus
