Network Systems Engineer

About This Role

IntelliDyne, LLC is seeking a Network Systems Engineer to provide leadership and management of enterprise-wide information technology to include IT infrastructure management and consolidation, enterprise architecture, IT governance, and integrated IT service delivery.

Work Location: National Capital Region (On-site)

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and Active DOD Top Secret level Security Clearance required

Status: Exempt

Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities may include:

  • Analyze users' requirements, concept of operations documents, and high–level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications, analyze system requirements, and conduct infrastructure design and development activities.

  • Assist with the development of systems requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.

  • Provide technical support for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.

  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations and develop system architecture and system design documentation.

  • Assist with system development and implementation planning through the assessment of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.

  • Interact with the client and team members regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

  • The System Engineer shall also provide system improvement recommendations including opportunities for system consolidation.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in IT or related field required

  • Minimum 8 years networking/infrastructure experience

  • Minimum 3 years providing LAN/WAN/Remote Access support

  • Clearance: Active DOD Top Secret

  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional or equivalent

  • Experienced with systems architecture design, datacenter design, solutions development, preparation and presentation of system design diagrams and various system or process documentation, business process re-engineering, requirements gathering and analysis, advanced infrastructure and systems troubleshooting, and capacity management

  • Must be a self-starter who requires little instruction to understand their role on a team and highly capable of understanding the big picture without the full scope of information

  • Capable of using all available resources to gather required information to finalize system plans

  • Experience leading meetings regarding analysis and assessment of systems and applications

  • Experience preparing a full set of documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences about planning and design for data center consolidation efforts or application migrations.

  • Must be adept at verbal and written communication for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Must have hands-on engineering experience implementing various self-prepared systems designs

  • Must be able to create work breakdown structures regarding engineering level tasks within high level design plan and make proper engineering assignments based on existing engineers’ skillsets
