Description: Department Summary: Transmission Pipeline Engineering is responsible for the engineering and design of Gas Transmission pipelines, including the lowering of gas pipelines and relocations, emergency valve replacements, and other compliance-driven pipeline projects. Transmission Pipeline Engineering also provides engineering, field, and technical expertise to other departments Job Description/Responsibilities: As a member of the Pipeline Engineering and Design staff, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for all engineering functions required to manage the corporation's natural gas system assets in particular transmission pipelines and valve sites. This includes but not limited to analysis and design of mechanical systems, consulting, troubleshooting mechanical operating systems, preparation of mechanical system Preventive Maintenance Procedures, writing performance specifications, writing system design criteria, certain mechanical system inspection processes, drawing reviews, and selected construction management duties. The position also includes life cycle cost evaluations, long-range strategic planning support functions, budgeting and scheduling activities, and preparation of annual objectives and work plans.
