Position Summary

Responsible for the planning, documenting, coordinating and management of implementing product’s specification Changes into the production plant. Manages and leads activities with local and global cross-functional team to successfully implement changes to achieve an smooth implementation without production disruptions.

Develops 3D (Three Dimensional) or 2D (Two dimensional) models using Computer Aided Design tools alike CREO or AutoCAD, prepares drawings to support product´s specification changes or new designs.

Prepares and excecutes validation & verification documentation following good documentation practices to meet quality and regulatory requirements for medical devices.

Duties

  • Participates in communication and iterates on designs with vendors, sourcing, manufacturing, service and other functions to realize designs.

  • Develops components, sub-assembly designs and associated documentation with guidance from engineers and fellow designers.

  • Utilizes design tools (e.g. CREO, AutoCAD, LabView, etc.) within STERIS Product Lifecycle Management systems to control and release designs.

  • Solves problems with guidance from senior designers and engineers while utilizing problem solving techniques, referencing historical designs, reviewing standards and other resources.

  • Provides effort estimates for defined design tasks.

  • Utilizes required tools to perform hands-on assembly of prototype designs.

  • Develops and executes engineering test protocols using good lab practices and good documentation practices.

  • Implement a change management system by following quality procedures, involve and train all involved departments in the plant.

  • Facilitate Engineering Change Request and technical review meetings with R&D, Service, Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.

  • Analyze change request and define manufacturing implementation tasks

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering General

Required Experience

  • Wide knowledge and experience pertaining to similar products is helpful, but not a necessity, if education and experience are of applicable nature.

Preferred Experience

  • One (1) to six (6) years experience in project management, product life cycle management and/or drafting and design (mechanical and/or electrical)

  • Experience using Computer Aided Design Packages (i.e., Pro-E, AutoCAD, Intergraph, Solid works, PLM)

  • Broad knowledge of Engineering and Drafting principles coupled with originality, creativity and substantial knowledge of materials, hardware and shop practices.

  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, Pro-E or similar.

  • Experience coordinating design change implementation in to manufacturing
