Generac Power Systems Machine Operator I - Weekend Day Shift in Oshkosh, Wisconsin

The Machine Operator -- Fabrication is expected to perform under the direction of the area supervisor, manufacture parts per plant specification in an accurate and timely manner utilizing a CNC Machining Center/Fabrication equipment while recognizing safety and efficiencies.

Additional Qualifications:

Set up, adjust and operate CNC Machining Center

  • Read and interpret blueprint specifications to determine procedures, verify programs and tooling

  • Perform complex machine set ups and critical operations

  • Position and replace tools, and set in relation to machine

  • Use a variety of precision measuring devices to set up and adjust work and verify conformance of work to specifications

  • Understand special material handling required for materials and equipment used in the work cell

  • Assist in other work areas as needed

  • Repair/correction of errors

  • Participation in training sessions

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • An understanding of machining/fabricating fundamentals

  • Experience working with fabrication machines, specifically milling machine/Brake/Turret drill press, saw, grinder.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively communicate

  • Contributes to identifying problems and implementing appropriate countermeasures.

  • Intermediate PC knowledge.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Strong problem solving and reasoning skills

  • Ability to perform reading, writing, and math functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience on equipment and automation consistent with a metal fabrication, paint, and assembly operation.

  • Intermediate mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues and systematically work toward resolution.

  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics and machine specifications.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
