Description

VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is seeking an experienced Logistics and Shipboard Systems Configuration Manager to support our NAVSEA customer in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid position reporting 2 days/week. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and managing DoD equipment/systems Configuration Management Plans (CMP), establishing baselines, processing RFCs (Request for Changes), ECPs (Engineering Change Proposals) and PCWs (Proposed Change Work) and working with configuration boards as part of the configuration management process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide configuration management support for ship systems modernization program in accordance with contract requirements

  • Develop and implement Configuration Management Plans for shipboard / weapons systems to include acquisition, operation, maintenance, and lifecycle sustainment

  • Establish configuration management baseline and manage technical packages

  • Build relationships and collaborate with multidisciplined functional teams to build consensus and resolve configuration problems

  • Ensure configuration changes (RFCs, ECPs, PCWs) and variances are documented, coordinated, evaluated and dispositioned and recorded in Configuration Management system

  • Identify and resolve configuration management issues associated with maintaining and controlling documentation, and hardware and software product releases

  • Prepare briefings to support configuration management requirements and approval/review for configurations boards

  • Work with configuration boards reviewing, revising and implementing procedures for releasing new products

  • Develop and present briefings to senior executive staff and stakeholders

  • Travel may be required

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant DoD configuration management experience or Associates and 10 years of DoD configuration management experience

  • Experience with design, construction of DoD equipment/systems to include design changes, alterations and identification of how these alterations affect configuration, operations, training and lifecycle sustainment

  • Familiar with DoD and industry standards and best practices for managing configuration management

  • Experience evaluating and processing design technical packages and RFCs, ECPs, PCWs submittals for DoD ACAT program

  • Experience working with configuration boards to review/approve submissions

  • Knowledge of cradle to grave configuration management for unmanned vehicles, equipment, or systems

  • Active Secret clearance required

Additional (Desired) Qualifications:

  • Experience with US Navy platforms, surface and air-launched weapon systems, MCM Shipboard systems

  • MA or MS degree

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Life Cycle Logistics (LCS) Level II certification
