The hourly pay rate for the Laboratory Technician II position is $ 20.00. Annual merit bonus and incentive plans are also offered. This position works 1st shift and offers overtime potential based on business needs; this role will work Sundays - Thursdays. The Laboratory Technician II is responsible for executing assigned microbiological or chemistry testing in accordance with regulated laboratory testing techniques, approved procedures and Customer specifications.

What you will do with us:

  • Prepare and execute microbiology or chemistry tests in a highly regulated FDA, ISO and GMP industrial sterilization environment such as:

  • Disinfection Efficacy

  • Bioburden

  • Sterility

  • LAL Endotoxin

  • Microbial Limits

  • Anti-Microbial Effectiveness

  • Read, interpret, and record test results

  • Prepare technical documents using MS Word and Excel

  • Create and edit Customer specific prep methods

  • Participate in development and review of test methods and Standard Operating Procedures

  • Assist and train Laboratory Technician I staff

  • Maintain area inventory

How you will learn your role:

  • Review work instructions along with vital policies and procedures

  • Take part in on-the-job training, overseen by your Hiring Manager

  • Demonstrate ability to meet the requirements of the job

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED if you have at least 4 years’ experience in a Laboratory

  • Associates Degree (2 year) – no experience required

Required Experience

  • Demonstrate the ability to follow safety rules and be safety aware at all times

  • Demonstrate the desire to learn, be productive and contribute to the team

  • Demonstrate reliability and dependability

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrate knowledge of microbes or chemical assays and equipment

  • Demonstrate knowledge of standard aseptic techniques and/or common laboratory equipment use.

  • Demonstrate skills in:

  • Technical document writing

  • Using MS Word and Excel (minimum Intermediate level)

  • Organizing, planning and prioritizing tasks

  • Basic math including fractions, decimals and dilution schemes

  • Training other staff

  • Time management

  • Demonstrate an ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements and work in high pressure situations

  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team

  • Be attentive to detail
