DCG Communications Federal Communications Program Manager - DHS in Washington, District Of Columbia

About the Job:

DCG is seeking a Federal Communications Program Manager to lead a communications contract within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a program manager, you will be responsible for the planning, executing, and supervising of a multi-million-dollar project and managing a sizable team comprised of prime and subcontractors. You will have the opportunity to build strong rapport with our federal client, proactively support the portfolio's growth organically, and further enhance DCGs business offerings and capabilities. You will also shape conversations and discussions with the client to prepare for recompetes.

What you will do:

You will interface directly with clients, partners, and employees to ensure project operations run smoothly (e.g., deliverables are being met, positions across the account are appropriately staffed, employees are engaged, clients are satisfied, contract mods are executed, and subcontracts are administered properly – as applicable) and opportunities for growth are identified and explored. You will also closely work with other DCG Project Managers, and members of the executive team, to share updates, brainstorm ideas, and have general awareness of activities across DCG's Delivery and Growth teams.

Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

· Partner with project managers to monitor project performance and review deliverables to ensure technical, programmatic, and financial goals and objectives are met.

· Identify possible areas for growth or improvement and address areas of concern, while mitigating risk

· Monitor project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques

· Prepare reports and present them to senior management as needed

· Draft thoughtful recommendations based on observation, leadership development best practices, and research

· Serve as a leader and trusted advisor, mentoring and directly overseeing at least three project managers and their growing team

· Responsible for end-to-end performance of all contracts in the portfolio

· Interact with and earn the trust of senior-level clients

Location: At DCG, many of our team members, including this role, are remote. With over 100 employees based in 23 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours.

Position Requirements:

· A minimum of Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience as a project or program manager supporting communications and marketing campaigns, preferably in an agency setting, including managing a portfolio of mid-to-large federal contracts and teams

· Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or applicable area

· Two (2) – five (5) years of experience managing a portfolio of federal contracts, preferably within DHS

· Experience managing T&M Contracts

· Proven results-oriented problem-solving abilities

· Comfortability with program financials (rates, funding, varying types of federal contracts, etc.)

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy as well as outstanding written and verbal communication abilities

· Must be a self-starter, motivated, and a problem solver

· Experience providing guidance, feedback, and consulting services to federal program managers

· Direct and proven experience successfully leading and managing large federal communications projects

· A customer-focused, flexible, astute leader who has won the respect of customers, peers, and employees

· Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment, demonstrate teamwork and initiative, and function productively in the face of new assignments and the re-prioritization of existing assignments

· Experience facilitating resolution of customer requirements, including helping to identify and document capability gaps, formulating and developing solutions, and participating in and contributing to strategic discussions

· Prior experience developing and/or editing a variety of communication products, including but not limited to blog and social media posts, digital media ads, outreach toolkits, one-pagers, blast emails, newsletter articles, presentation materials, and other traditional communications products

· Proven to have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage a diverse workload

· Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve and drive outcomes

· Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn, while supporting the learning and development of team members

· Experience supporting DHS components and agencies either operationally or through project management strongly preferred

· Eligible to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance
