Description and Requirements

MetLife operates a global MetLife Security Operations Center (MSOC) in the Cary, NC area. The MSOC is a state-of-the-art, 24x7x365 facility enabled to handle security needs and response for MetLife globally. The MSOC is pivotal in maintaining 24x7x365 vigilance, orchestrating responses, and ensuring the safety and security of our operations across the globe. We are currently seeking a seasoned professional to helm the role of Director for our GSOC, bringing strategic leadership and a global perspective to our security operations.

Key Responsibilities:

§ Provide strategic direction and leadership to a team of analysts located in Cary and remote sites globally, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.

§ Lead efforts to enhance global deployment of new technologies, while spearheading training initiatives for local teams to ensure seamless integration and support at all sites.

§ Collaborate closely with Information Technology (IT) teams to define and prioritize business requirements for selecting, enhancing, upgrading, and testing applications, with a keen focus on Agile methodologies.

§ Develop and refine process documentation for customer and external audits, integrating metrics to effectively manage compliance and enhance operational efficiency.

§ Lead daily situational awareness reporting, including the analysis of company-specific impact statements, and ensure effective coordination with regional security teams worldwide.

§ Oversee critical incident response management, including crisis management impact assessments, response coordination, and the development of actionable metrics for continuous improvement.

§ Manage the overall MSOC operating budget, including vendor relationships, equipment maintenance, and strategic investments in security technology.

§ Foster collaboration and maintain partnerships both internally and externally, ensuring effective coordination with external organizations on security, emergency preparedness, and response initiatives.

§ Directly supervise a team of Operations Analysts, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to drive individual and team performance excellence.

§ Oversight of alarm/camera/panel/reader monitoring for uptime and lead equipment issue resolution

§ Oversight of daily situational awareness reporting to include company-specific impact statements

§ Initiation and management of notification tools used to inform and activate Crisis Management Teams and employees of emergency conditions

Required Experience:

§ 5+ years of Lenel OnGuard Enterprise deployment, functional and reporting experience (or similar system)

§ 5+ years of experience working with process auditing and management (SOX compliance exp preferred)

§ 3+ years IT application development and infrastructure experience

§ Technical bachelors degree (Cyber security experience/training a plus)

§ CISSP certification a plus

§ Proven track record in driving technological innovations within application development, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity, with experience in implementing cutting-edge solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.

§ Proficiency in monitoring and analyzing international security and geopolitical developments, with a keen interest in global security trends.

§ Extensive experience in risk management methodologies, with a focus on identifying and mitigating threats in a global context.

§ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building strong relationships with stakeholders and managing expectations effectively.

§ 3+ years’ experience in preparing annual or fiscal year budgets for the facilities including staffing, equipment purchases (hardware/software) and annual vendor maintenance agreements
