North Amercian Water Treatment (NAWT) an A O Smith owned company is head quartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. NAWT provides state-of-the-art solutions in the water filtration and treatment industry.

Primary Function

The NAWT Pro Channel Sales Director leads the professional channel water treatment sales group. The Sales Director is the principal liaison between the professional channel sales managers, regional sales managers and the company. The Sales Director is responsible directly to the President of NAWT. The incumbent manages sales activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as member of the North America Water Treatment leadership team and work closely with other functional leaders on the team.

  • Plan, direct, and monitor the activities of the sales team to achieve established sales targets through the professional channel (includes dealer network, retail, and wholesale).

  • Provide strategic oversight to a national sales team to implement the organization's overall sales strategy for North America.

  • Partner with channel sales leaders to monitor the performance of the sales teams and reallocate resources to improve overall results as needed.

  • Contribute to the development of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution strategies for the region.

  • Manage sales support activities such as sales administration, customer service, and technical support to ensure that customer orders are processed, dispatched, invoiced, and paid accurately and on time.

  • Coach Channel sales leaders on the technical aspects of the organization's products and services; on marketing campaigns and sales promotions; and on sales techniques, procedures, and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.

  • Develop and implement sales team succession planning, career development and growth for subordinate team.

  • Oversee recruiting, selecting, training and eventual placement of sales candidates into territories.

  • Work with President, finance, and operations to drive sales forecasting, expense budgeting, and other such functions as required.

  • Continuously research the competitive environment in which we operate, and report noteworthy information along with recommendations for action.

  • Provide market information for the evolving water treatment space.

  • Plan and execute periodic sales meetings, regional meetings, seminars, training sessions, etc. Work with the NAWT marketing team to define marketing, advertising, and growth plans.

  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university

  • Minimum of 10 years related work experience

    Additional Qualifications:

  • 10 years of Supervisory/Leadership experience

  • Experience in sales or new business development with a focus on manufactured products, specifically in the water/plumbing space

  • Experience implementing professional service business models in manufacturing or consumer goods industries.

  • Strong skills in business development, account management and sales process.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Products is required. Experience in Salesforce CRM and/or the SAP environment is a plus.

  • Not required, but a background in the plumbing or water treatment space is a plus.
