This position is responsible for leadership and oversight of all Membership Accounting operations. This position is responsible for leading all membership accounting business functions including eligibility, premium billing, premium collection and reconciliation, new group setup and renewals. This is a full-time on-site position location in Portland Oregon. Primary Functions:

  • Direct and lead the membership accounting personnel in accurate and timely business operation functions including enrollment, eligibility maintenance, premium billing, and reconciliation.

  • Perform hiring, coaching and staff development for manager and supervisors within Membership Accounting.

  • Direct and lead BHS membership accounting personnel including enrollment and premium reconciliation, carrier communications and oversight.

  • Coach and motivate staff to provide excellent service to all customers; external and internal.

  • Direct and lead the business implementation unit in the set up and maintenance of new business and renewals working closely with Sales and Account Services.

  • Work with various department stakeholders in the development and implementation of key strategies to enhance overall operations of Moda and Membership Accounting.

  • Oversees budget and expenditures relating to running the Membership Accounting department.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal staff to meet the goals and objectives of the department.

  • Develops departmental strategic plans focused on improving overall operations and exceeding Moda goals.

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Proficiency Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in Business Administration. Master’s degree or equivalent is strongly preferred.

  • At least eight years of work experience in health care insurance or relative business experience is required.

  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain relationships with a variety of business and healthcare executives.

  • Experience in facilitating change, including collaboration with key business stakeholders and executives.

  • Proven internal and external influencing skills at senior and executive management levels.

  • Solid analytical, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.

  • Ability to provide leadership in change management and continuous process improvement.

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to deliver results consistently by getting things done on time, successfully planning and organizing goals, and is very bottom-line oriented ensuring service level agreements are met.

  • Ability to work well under pressure with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.

  • Ability to accurately prioritize and organize short-term and long-term responsibilities in response to changing demands.
