RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with internal and external stakeholders, such as clients, vendors, partners, legal counsel, and senior management.

  • Ensure that all contracts and agreements are aligned with the organization's goals, objectives, and policies, as well as comply with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Maintain and update contract records and databases, and provide regular reports and analysis on contract status, performance, and compliance.

  • Manage the contract lifecycle, from initiation to termination, and handle contract renewals, amendments, extensions, and terminations.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and fulfillment of contractual obligations and deliverables and identify and mitigate any risks or issues that may affect the contract execution.

  • Coordinate and communicate with internal and external parties involved in the contract process, e.g., project managers, finance, HR, and operations.

  • Provide guidance and support to staff and stakeholders on contract-related matters, such as policies, procedures, best practices, and standards.

  • Resolve any contract disputes or claims that may arise and escalate complex or critical issues to senior management or legal counsel as needed.

  • Conduct contract audits and reviews to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor-s degree in business administration, law, finance, or related field.

  • 8+ years experience in managing contracts, preferably in relevant public and private sectors such as transportation, data, and freight modeling, public lands planning, and noise control engineering.

  • Certification or training in contract management, such as Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), or Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of legal requirements and procedures involving contracts.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms.

  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple contracts and a wide array of duties.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in contracts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication skills to liaise with legal, financial, and other professionals.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, prioritize client matters, and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent.

  • Requisite organizational skills to track and monitor contracts for future obligations, expiration dates, and other contractual deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and contract management software and tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requires periodic travel.

  • Frequently involves standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
