JEVS Human Services Community Employment Specialist (Disability Services) in United States

Each year we touch nearly 16,000 lives, focusing on individuals with physical, developmental, and emotional challenges as well as those facing adverse socio-economic conditions including unemployment and underemployment.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Employment Specialist. HireAbility offers a customized employment program to assist individuals living with an intellectual disability, mental illness, physical disability, or chronic disease by preparing them for employment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned caseload to provide all units of service required for job seekers

  • Develop, change and track results of the job seeker’s goals.

  • Match a job seekers interests and abilities with available jobs. Look for new employers and nurture relationships with existing employers.

  • Conduct an assessment of each job seeker. Focus on total life experiences, not just work history, and interest.

  • Support job seeker in obtaining an interview for identified jobs. Attend interview if needed.

  • Support participants currently employed to increase skills, abilities, hours, duties, authority as desired by participant.

This position is in the Camden County area of New Jersey

  • Valid Driver’s License required

  • Associate's degree and 2 years experience preferred

  • Hours of work may vary, depending upon participants/job seekers. Hours of work may include evenings and weekends.

The base pay for this position ranges from $18 to $24.50 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
