Torden CAT II Arabic / Maghrebi / French Linguist (GTMO) in United States

Until Filled (EST) | USA | Salary | Full Time Torden is seeking qualified Arabic linguists for positions on US Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay (GTMO).Requirements:

  • Interpretation and translation Proficiency in Arabic (AD - MSA), Maghrebi and French

  • Speaking, listening, reading comprehension ILR must meet 3 minimum in AD - MSA and 2+ in English

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct accurate translation, transcription, and interpretation

  • Must have typing and computer skills

  • Must be able to think quickly and work in a professional atmosphere as part of a team

  • Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in a standard dialect and have broad vocabulary to rarely require assistance for paraphrasing or explanation.

  • Ability to follow accurately the essentials of conversations between educated native speakers

  • Ability to understand radio broadcasts, news stories similar to wire service reports, oral reports, some oral technical reports, and public addresses on non-technical subjects.

  • Due to location of assignment, must meet medical and dental screening requirements as well as immunizations up to date

    Security Requirements:

  • Individuals with an active SECRET security clearance

  • All candidates must have a valid U.S. Government Counterintelligence (CI) screening (within 2 years) and valid CI polygraph (within 5 years) for consideration
