Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Back-End Developer (Mid-Level) to join our team. This is a remote opportunity.

  • Implement cybersecurity best practices and meet rigorous Department of Defense standards to ensure the highest security and compliance levels in our solutions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Engage primarily in back-end development, with the ability to contribute to front-end development as needed,playing a key role in full-stack application development.

  • Develop and maintain secure REST API endpoints using ASP.NET, incorporating robust user permissions and data validation.

  • Assist as needed in creating responsive, front-end user interfaces for Single Page Application (SPA) web apps using modern JavaScript frameworks.

  • Focus on modernizing and rewriting legacy applications, aiming to migrate them and their resources to the cloud environment (cARMY).

  • Write unit tests to ensure functionality and reliability of back-end code.

  • Create comprehensive solution documentation, including technical and user guides, system diagrams, data models, and integration strategies.

  • Develop code in accordance with U.S. Government (USG) Information Assurance (IA) and Security (INFOSEC) standards, policies, and best practices.

  • Uphold high code quality standards and thoughtful application design for consistency across projects.

  • Participate in regular Scrum events as part of an agile team.

  • Collaborate across US time zones via Email, MS Teams, Slack, Zoom, Google Drive, Git repositories, Azure DevOps, and project documents.

  • Bring a positive, solution-focused attitude and a willingness to present innovative ideas.

  • Execute additional tasks as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.

  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to acquire within the first month of employment).

  • Proficiency in developing REST API endpoints using ASP.NET

  • Strong understanding of data structures and experience with relational databases like Oracle and SQL Server.

  • Understanding of data encryption and best practices around security.

  • Experience in writing unit tests for back-end using tools like NUnit, Moq, Fluent Assertions, etc.

  • Understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies.

  • Experience with git version control, cloud service providers, and understanding of DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong history of working with software development team to assess, develop, test, and maintain systems and applications.

  • Some experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.JS, Angular, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of TypeScript, including its type system (interfaces, types, generics).

  • Basic understanding of web development including responsive design principles or experience with UI frameworks (Bootstrap, Material Design, Tailwind, etc.).

  • Strong team collaboration skills, excellent communication abilities, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure certifications including Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).

  • Familiarity with DOD cloud environments, especially cARMY.

  • Experience with government (DOD and ARMY) development processes and requirements.

  • 2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.

  • Experience working with containers and deploying resources to the cloud.

  • Hands on experience with implementing different types of user authentication, user permissions, and role-based access control (RBAC).

  • Proficiency in code analysis using tools like Fortify, Checkmarx, and SonarQube.

  • Experience in implementing automated DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD technologies.

  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise or GitLab.

  • Expertise in rewriting legacy applications and migrating applications to the cloud.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret clearance or higher, or ability to obtain one.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $66,800-$111,400. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
