The Department of Creative Enterprise Leadership (CEL) in the School of Art at Pratt Institute seeks exceptional applicants for the position of Assistant to the Chair. In coordination with the Chair and Assistant Chair, the Assistant to the Chair will contribute to the daily operations of the Creative Enterprise Leadership department. The ideal candidate will possess at least three years of administrative and budgeting experience in either an arts organization or a higher education environment.
The Creative Enterprise Leadership Department is housed in the School of Art. The department currently offers two international graduate degrees: an M.P.S. in Design Management (https://www.pratt.edu/programs/mps-design-management/) and an M.P.S. in Arts and Cultural Management (https://www.pratt.edu/art/creative-enterprise-leadership/arts-and-cultural-management-mps/) . Participants graduate with the strategic leadership skills necessary to align creativity, culture, community, commerce, and caring to design experiences and engagement, and advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

Position Duties:
The responsibilities of the Assistant to the Chair include supporting the Chair, Assistant Chair and faculty to ensure effective operations of the department, and include:
Serve as liaison to faculty, internal departments, external organizations, and students.
Coordinate and prioritize daily office activities, including but not limited to generating purchase orders; running enrollment reports and utilizing spreadsheets; processing reimbursements; organizing and maintaining filing systems and preserving the confidentiality of student and faculty files; initiating appropriate forms as directed (including stipends for pedagogical and curricular activities); managing databases and calendars).
Hire, assign tasks and supervise work-study students and/or graduate assistants.
Monitor financial activities (i.e, generate purchase orders, set up spreadsheets, initiate appropriate payroll/payment actions for work study, oversee expenditures, work with campus budget office to ensure appropriate documentation and accountability, etc.);
Assist the department leadership in candidate recruitment/enrollment process: application, interview, enrollment, orientation and registration; assist Chair and Assistant Chair to establish and sustain relationships related to generating enrollment.
Manage course scheduling, academic calendar, and facilities.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

SALARY is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range for this position is $57,600 to $62,900. The position will be onsite 5 days/wk, and includes evenings and weekends.
