World Vision is hiring an Art Director to serve on the Internal Agency Creative Team.

Required Experience: Bachelor's degree. Experience in agency or in-house creative agency roles; 7-8 years. Experience to include strong background in graphic design with a portfolio showcasing successful campaigns.

Estimated Salary: $95,000 - $120,000

The Job:

World Vision is looking for an Art Director to lead and inspire our creative team, develop innovative campaigns that align with our mission, and elevate our brand through compelling design and strategic thinking. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Art Director with a strong background in agency or in-house creative agency settings. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in graphic design, a proven track record in executing successful campaigns, and a collaborative mindset. A passion for work that makes a positive impact in the world, an ability to align creative endeavors with core mission and values, and a commitment to stewarding the existing brand are integral to this role.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, leadership of devotions, chapel, prayer, worship).

  • Incorporate WV faith-based values into decisions within scope of role and the organization.

  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to ensure alignment with the overall creative vision and strategy, incorporating a commitment to making a positive impact.

  • Utilize graphic design expertise to contribute to the development and execution of innovative and effective campaigns that resonate with our mission and values.

  • Lead and manage a team of writers and designers, providing guidance and mentorship to junior members.

  • Build, maintain and mentor a team of creative professionals who specialize in creating top-quality marketing, fundraising and communication tools.

  • Hire, fire, train, counsel, evaluate, and recommend salary increases and promotions for those under direct supervision.

  • Exhibit and maintain strong leadership, management, budgeting, and planning skills.

  • Demonstrate a high level of collaboration, fostering a creative environment that encourages open communication and idea sharing while maintaining a focus on meaningful contributions to society.

  • Provide leadership to writers and designers, ensuring cohesive and compelling visual and written elements in campaigns that align with our core values.

  • Steward and elevate the existing brand through a keen understanding of its essence, ensuring creative work reflects and enhances its identity.

  • Infuse a passion for innovation into creative processes, exploring and implementing cutting-edge ideas to keep our work at the forefront of the industry.

  • Leverage experience in design for digital marketing, staying abreast of digital trends and applying insights to enhance our online presence.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and apply insights to enhance creative output, always with an eye toward creating positive change.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (eight years) work experience.

  • In addition to education or educational equivalent, requires work experience in agency or in-house creative agency roles; 7-8 years.

  • Experience to include strong background in graphic design with a portfolio showcasing successful campaigns.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff with previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong background in graphic design with a portfolio showcasing successful campaigns.

  • Experience in design for digital marketing, with a focus on staying current with digital trends.

  • Additional Skills We Are Interested In:

  • Ability and passion to mentor creatives. Refined presentation skills. Maturity and skill to know when to follow rules and protocols, and when to think outside the box and elevate thinking and design.

    Salary Range & Benefits:

  • WVUS Pay Grade Level: 227

  • The full range for this position is $90,187.62 - $145,905.62

  • The estimated hiring range is $95,000.00 - $120,000.00

  • This range applies to locations with a market similar to our Washington D.C. office. A different range may apply based on your work location.

  • Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity.

  • In addition, we have a robust and comprehensive benefits package to round our total compensation package.

  • Additionally, merit, auto allowance, and relocation may be available to eligible to some employees based on existing plans.
