Job Description Summary:

This is a grant-funded position through August 31, 2025.

Under the direct supervision of the Program Director and Retention Specialist, the TRIO SSS Tutor will work on assisting assigned students in academic tutoring, to include note-taking, study skills, and review of online content including syllabi, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and four to five years of related experience or required course work/certification and or specialized skills/training.

  • Or a combination of education and related experience for a total of four to five years.

High School diploma and completion of at least 30 credits hours at the collegiate level with an overall average of “B” or better (or GPA of 3.0 on 4-point scale) in major courses. Must have earned a grade of “A” in specific course in order to serve as tutor. Experience as a tutor or prior transferable experience preferred.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.

  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
