Job Description:

Manages/Supports the Aviation Fire Services function within assigned area of responsibility, typically a large FOB or multiple FOBs on an international project. Responsible for Fire Services team that routinely mobilizes to various locations within 24 hours to support services supporting Fire Operations. Responsibilities include providing leadership of Aviation Fire Services through planning, organizing and directing the operation of all aspects of fire protection programs. Identify and recommend future Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) planning and execution requirements. Shall manage and account for all assigned materials and equipment. Shall manage inventories throughout operations activities. Must anticipate and plan for shortfalls in materials, equipment and ARFF capabilities. Shall ensure all Aviation Fire Services members meet training and certification requirements outlined in DOD 6055.06-M. Maintain proficiencies, licenses, and certifications in accordance with applicable regulations and Host Nation guidance, NFPA, and ARFF regulations. Plan for movement of materials, equipment, and personnel in support of mobile ARFF operations to various locations. Conduct daily inspections of personal protective gear for serviceability and accountability. Prepare and conduct training for military personnel or subcontractors on ARFF operations and fire protection as needed. Ensure the safety of all firefighters by requiring proper procedures are followed. Responsible for planning and conducting emergency response exercises.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

As directed by management, may supervise employees or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum.
