Meta Network Engineer, Deployment & Support in Singapore

Summary:

Meta is looking for an individual contributor role on the global edge and backbone network deployment team. This team is responsible for deploying one of the world’s largest complex Edge & Backbone (CDN, Compute, IP, Optical & Data Center) networks. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of networking at Meta.

Required Skills:

Network Engineer, Deployment & Support Responsibilities:

  1. Be agile to work across multiple domains, work cross-functionally with Project Management, Network Engineering and other cross functional teams to generate implementation plans including Method of Procedure (MOP) and Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Design Packages (EDP), Scope of Works (SOW), Network equipment and server Rack Face Elevations (RFE).

  2. Provide Technical Leadership and guidance during deployment activities in our data centers and POPs, including in the areas of facility power, cooling, rack layout and cable management, physical equipment installation, network equipment configuration, testing and handoff for production traffic.

  3. Deploy and support our global production and corporate network including edge, backbone, data center, and content delivery network infrastructure.

  4. Calculate and document equipment power/space requirements and consumption for multiple PoP sites. Work with Colocation Vendors, local Engineering, Facilities Operations, to meet these requirements.

  5. Schedule and perform network maintenance including repairs, upgrades, and migrations.

  6. Maintain technical and training documentation, develop automation and tooling as needed.

  7. Participate in on call activities and follow escalation process to support the infrastructure 24/7.

  8. Proactively contribute to documentation, automation and processes improvement.

  9. 10% to 30% of travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 6+ years of IP networking & Optical experience with designing, deploying, and supporting service provider, data center, and/or enterprise network infrastructure.

  3. Experience configuring and troubleshooting IP routing/switching technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, and VRRP in a dual-stack IPv4/6 environment & Optical Technologies including DWDM.

  4. Experience coordinating and executing hardware installation and configuration.

  5. Hands-on experience with enterprise and carrier class routing, switching, and optical transport platforms.

  6. Knowledge of data center design and operational best practices.

  7. Experience with Linux OS/networking/Python scripting.

  8. Experience analyzing situations and utilizing problem solving experiences under pressure.

  9. Proven experience in executing network deployment projects with minimum or no supervision.

  10. Experience interacting with vendors and external parties to drive projects to completion.

  11. Time and project management experience.

  1. Experience working in a multi-vendor network & cross functional environment.

  2. Additional scripting knowledge is preferred.

  3. Network certifications such as CCIE, CCNP or JNCIP. Expert level certifications.
