IHG Credit Manager in Singapore

Duties and responsibilities
Finance Returns
Reviews PM accounts and guest in house daily high balance and take corrective action where necessary in accordance to CSA requirements
Reviews city ledger daily for correct postings of charges and take corrective action where necessary
Monitor and pursue collection of overdue accounts
Review bad debts listing monthly to prepare collectability analysis for monthly provision for doubtful debts
Respond to and resolve account queries in conjunction with accounts receivable
Assists in control and collection of outstanding guest and city ledger accounts
Prepare management reports for month end analysis and provide documentation for credit meeting
Review provision, write-offs and other adjustments immediately prior to month end
Conduct monthly credit meeting with relevant IHG team highlighting monthly performance, bad debts, staff accounts outstanding and discuss any accounts causing concern and follow up
Assists in maintaining and preparing accurate and timely financial and operating information with emphasis on the Aged Trial Balance of Accounts Receivable
Works with Superior in the preparation and management of the department’s budget
People
Reports directly to and communicates with the Finance Manager/ Director of Finance and Business Support on all matters pertaining to credit and collection of guest and city ledger accounts
Cooperates, coordinates and communicates with guests and other departments in matters concerning issuance of credit, follow up outstanding accounts and assisting with credit requirements
Liaises closely with the Accounts Receivable in reviewing and maintaining the Aged Trial Balance of Accounts Receivable
Guest Experience
- Monitors the special billing arrangements for groups and conventions as required to ensure that postings are in line with customer requirements
Responsible Business
Establishes adequate record keeping and issuance procedures
Ensure adherence to the hotel’s credit policy
Assists in providing safe keeping, including proper storage and access, for all contracts, leases and other financial records
Maintains professional and technical competence
Assists in implementing and maintaining acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by IHG policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting practices and as affected by local conditions
Demonstrate awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same
Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and enforce these in your areas
Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
Ensure security incidents and accidents are logged, investigated and rectified to prevent future catastrophes
Accountability
Under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager/ Director of Finance and Business Support, and within the limits of InterContinental Hotels Group policies and procedures, responsible for ensuring all revenues generated in the hotel are recorded accurately and discrepancies reported on a timely basis. The Accountant also ensures that all revenues are recorded and reported on a daily basis and all control procedures are in place relating to the income process. You will also help to create a desired work culture around our Winning Ways of the InterContinental Hotels Group and embrace the IHG Commitment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 Years of related work experience
Able to communicate with and lead colleagues
