Meta Central Investigations Analyst in Singapore

Summary:

The Central Investigations team is dedicated to keeping users of Meta technologies and platforms safe. We pride ourselves in helping prevent harm by applying deep subject matter expertise to identify and mitigate potential dangerous organisations-related threats to keep Meta and its users more secure. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced investigator who will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging, high-visibility risks the company faces and the opportunity to have a substantial impact.We are seeking an investigator with experience in understanding and mitigating safety issues, as well as networks that may look to facilitate the coordination of harm against vulnerable populations. In addition to having a strong investigative and analytical background, we are seeking an investigator who has experience making risk-based decisions, and who is passionate about protecting people. The successful candidate will be able to assess and analyse large amounts of data in order to identify sources of potential threats and abuses, operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and proactively collaborate with teams across the company.he position is full-time and would be based in our Singapore office.

Required Skills:

Central Investigations Analyst Responsibilities:

  1. Develop an understanding of safety issues and how they impact Facebook, Instagram, and our communities

  2. Investigate complex cases and conduct deep analysis of potential threats that can manifest on Meta’s platforms

  3. Identify sources of abusive behaviour, quickly and accurately assessing the credibility of potential threats in order to mitigate risk of harm

  4. Work cross-functionally with other analytic and investigative teams across the company

  5. Gather, analyse, and synthesise relevant data to identify potential abuse, escalating imminent threats as necessary

  6. Collaborate with policy, engineering and integrity partners to improve the detection of behaviour that violates our Community Standards

  7. Independently manage multiple analyses at once while effectively prioritising time

  8. Maintain high quality standards while managing large volumes of time-sensitive requests

  9. Available for after-hours and weekend work

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Excellent analytical and investigative skills combined with the ability to quickly assess large amounts of data in order to detect critical and credible information

  2. Experience working with sensitive issues that include graphic violence, a variety of religious and political views, and adult content, as well as experience and inclination to protect highly confidential information

  3. Experience working independently under high-pressure situation and make sound, time-critical decisions with little to no supervision

  4. Experience making risk-based decisions involving pattern, network, and behavioural analysis

  5. Experience with social media, analytical tools, and internet-based research tools

  6. BA/BS degree or equivalent and 5+ years of investigations or analysis experience in law enforcement, security, risk, or safety domains

  7. Strong communications skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience conducting credible threat investigations on behalf of a technology company

  2. Experience using SQL and other data analytics programming languages, as well as data visualisation software

  3. Fluency in other languages highly preferred. Preferred languages include Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Tagalog, Sinhalese, Pashto as this role will be involved in responding to law enforcement requests within these jurisdictions

  4. Experience communicating cross-functionally, specifically as it pertains to making progressive suggestions for change

  5. Experience effectively juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic and changing environment

  6. Subject matter expertise on domestic terrorism and homegrown extremism

  7. Knowledge about high-risk regions affected by conflict
