Overview

The 15D Powertrain Instructor plays a crucial role in the training and development of military personnel specializing in powertrain systems. This position involves designing and delivering instructional materials to educate and prepare individuals for the maintenance and operation of powertrain components, with a focus on ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

    1. Curriculum Development:
  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs related to powertrain systems for military personnel.

  • Create instructional materials, lesson plans, and hands-on exercises to facilitate effective learning.

    1. Instructional Delivery:
  • Conduct training sessions on powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and associated systems.

  • Utilize various teaching methods, simulations, and practical exercises to enhance understanding and skill development.

    1. Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Develop and administer assessments to evaluate trainees' comprehension and proficiency in powertrain operations.

  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help individuals address areas of improvement.

    1. Technology Integration:
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in powertrain systems and integrate relevant updates into training programs.

  • Use multimedia tools and simulations to enhance the learning experience.

    1. Safety Emphasis:
  • Emphasize and enforce safety protocols and procedures related to powertrain maintenance and operation.

  • Instill a safety-conscious mindset among trainees.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in related field is beneficial.

  • Military background with a 15D Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) or equivalent experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of powertrain systems, including engines, transmissions, and associated components.

  • Previous experience as an instructor or trainer, preferably in a military setting.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience as an Aircraft Powertrain Repairer.

  • Experience inspecting and performing maintenance on aircraft powertrains systems (disassembling and fixing parts such as transmissions, engines, and rotary wings.)

  • Experience adjusting, balancing, and aligning all powertrain systems to make sure planes and helicopters are safe and ready to fly.
