Vectrus Power Plant Manager in Qatar

Overview

Manages technicians as they perform Medium/High-voltage (415 volt to 11 kV) electrical work involving the installation, operation, maintenance, repair and testing of high voltage electrical power generation and distribution systems to include facilities and related systems, transformers, generators, switchgears, metering and control systems, equipment, machinery and power tools to within acceptable national (NEC) and local (MEW) codes, safety rules and electrical standards. Ensures personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focus on a quality product. Follows the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other directives when ensuring tasks are accomplished. Ensures personnel complete all tasks in accordance with the local Environmental, Safety and Health directives.

Verifies actual hours worked by personnel against work performed to reduce workforce expenditure. Provides leadership and mentors junior personnel to develop appropriate skillsets. Addresses customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Uses provided Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to correctly input data related to maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance inspections, and emergency/urgent customer requests. Ensures personnel correctly capture data on maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance inspection forms for upload into Maximo.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises various trades and skill levels in performance of assigned tasks

  • Accountable for, and ensures a safe and effective operation of the power plant facility

  • Establishes a proactive maintenance program per NEC and manufacturer’s recommendations, specifications to reduce/eliminate unscheduled outages

  • Uses a CMMS database to track work orders, request material and update work order statuses as needed

  • Analyzes equipment data and trends; along with team members input, formulates maintenance program procedures

  • Coordinates the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, generator, transformer, switchgear, power grid, substation and load center equipment.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert, works with technicians as they test circuits, power grids, transformers, switchgear and controls demonstrating the proper use of meters, high-voltage testers, meggers and similar testing equipment to measure the integrity of electrical components and detect faults, hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation and or replacement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education/Certifications:

  • One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.

  • Certified & licensed in the field of electro-mechanical, power plant, industrial or electrical required.

  • Technical school required.

  • Must possess a valid Host Country driver’s license.

  • Experience:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in power generation, distribution, transmission and substation operations and maintenance required.

  • Contracting experience preferred
