Job Description

Full-time, 100% remote, Europe

Job scope:

Oracle Linux virtualization team is looking for a senior software engineer to help with designing and implementing virtualization solutions to support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Exadata Database systems, and a variety of other Oracle products.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will have opportunity to touch almost all areas of Linux kernel (not just virtualization) and VMMs (primarily QEMU), interact closely with our hardware and software partners, be on the bleeding edge of modern server technology and, most importantly, work with smartest people in the business, both at Oracle and in the industry as a whole.

Almost everything you do will end up upstream. This team has been main contributing organization for Linux kernel and QEMU at Oracle over the past 10 years, upstream work is a major part of what we do.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in kernel development

• Good grasp of virtualization technologies (KVM/QEMU in particular)

• Understanding of hardware architecture (x86 or ARM)

• Upstream contributions
