UL, LLC Electrical Project Engineer - Power Conversion (m/f/d) in Netherlands

As our global footprint continues to spread across the world, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer - Power Conversion to join our team in Arnheim (Netherlands) or Neu-Isenburg (Germany).

The successful engineer will be working in hybrid mode, managing customer projects in the Netherlands, Germany and other European countries and traveling to conduct or witness tests at client sites (20-30% of the time).

In a project-related, international team, you are responsible for the following tasks:

  • Determine project scope, develop a preliminary plan of investigation and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction.

  • Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.

  • Establish appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples and applying UL requirements.

  • Responsible for Product Verification and Compliance for Power Conversion products like UPS, eV charging stations, Battery chargers and Solar Inverters based on the most recent UL and IEC standards.

  • Conduct testing at internal and external Laboratories.

  • Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing the work of laboratory technicians and engineering assistants, and establishing completion dates.

  • Work with technical experts on complex products and standard interpretation.

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology or Manufacturing Technology

  • Experience as Electrical Project Engineer within the Energy/ eMobility sector, ideally within an international team/ in a complex matrix organisation

  • Knowledge about current National and International Standards which apply to such product types is desirable but not a must have

  • Good Project Management skills

  • Team player who is able to multi-task, with a strong sense of customer focus and communication skills

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and desirable in German

  • Travel within Europe as needed to support business and technical development
