Howmet Aerospace Technical Services Manager in Mexico

Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for leading technical projects to successfully accomplish their goal by:

  • Taking full ownership of technical projects such CNC, TOYO, X-RAY, and WALL GAUGE in Howmet de Mexico.

  • Developing & leading process layouts & installation of new machines.

  • Developing & Coordinating timing plans, Gantt tracking for all programs & new startups.

  • Leading meetings that include all aspects of Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, Finance, and customers in technical projects.

  • Supervising the smooth transition of technical projects into Mexico.

  • Striving for savings in Continues Improvement projects.

  • Providing Technical Training & Development tools for users

  • Searching for business opportunities within Howmet by transferring technical projects to Mexico.

  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels including Supervisory, Management, Executive and Customer.

  • Reporting to Plant Manager the status of all technical equipment projects.

  • Travel requirements up to 50% from Del Rio Location.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 1 year of Managerial experience.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Technical Services projects.

  • Bilingual English-Spanish.

  • Engineer, ISO/AS9100, NADCAP certification.

  • Strong knowledge on Casting Operations Processes.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft package & PC skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-starter.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Demonstrates a good attitude and initiative to develop the position’s activities.

  • Requires travel and overtime availability.

  • US & Mexico Maquila Manufacturing background experience.
