Teradata Senior Design Technologist, Content Operations in Mexico

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to and maintaining our developer resources portal, while innovating to build a new digital experience platform. The developer resources portal provides documentation, tools, and educational resources to our customers and users.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Working as a UI (User Interface) developer on an Empowered Team responsible for Teradata’s developer resources platform.

  • Partnering with product designers, content design strategists, and product managers to develop and test a new digital content experience for docs.teradata.com.

  • Operationally supporting production and developer environments for our content delivery portal.

  • Perform administrative tasks for our content delivery portal.

  • Integrating content from an XML based DITA source into other interfaces using APIs.

  • Automating content format conversions between different markup/markdown languages and information needs.

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with product and content strategy teams to set up and verify automated translation workflows.

  • Navigating and succeeding in undefined problem spaces, with your Empowered Team.

  • Bringing innovative ideas around adopting a JAMSTACK mentality to the rest of our organization.

  • Helping build out and advocate a shared design system of coded components and patterns across our public .com entities.

  • Engaging with our AI team to leverage developer resource content in training generative LLM models.

  • Balancing multiple projects at a time by using your strong organizational skills.

Who You’ll Work With

You will be on an Empowered Team and work closely with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle. This includes but is not limited to product managers, product architects & engineers, product designers, user interface designers, content designers, and technical content strategists.

This role reports to the Director of Developer Experience, on the Teradata Platform Design team.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • 5+ years or equivalent career experience in User Experience, Human Computer Interaction, software development, or related role.

  • Proficiency in front-end development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, and strong understanding of responsive web design principles and cross-browser compatibility issues

  • Demonstrated experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries like Vue.js, React, Angular, particularly Vue.js.

  • Familiarity with Git and version control best practices for collaborative development.

  • Experience in using API web services within Postman, curl, or other API request tools including creating and parsing JSON.

  • Experience with headless content management systems (CMS) platforms and the ability to adapt and customize functionality.

  • A proactive approach to learning and staying updated with the latest web development trends and technologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and ADA requirements.

  • Knowledge of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and other emerging AI technologies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that are used to build rapport and make connections easily with colleagues and our customers.

  • Able to work as part of a team, and willing to accept guidance and direction.

  • Experience working on SaaS-based initiatives and/or companies.

  • Experience with Drupal development, including theme development and module customization, is a plus but not mandatory.
