Copeland Quality Manager in Mexico

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. Assure product safety and reliably meets company standard.

  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with management, customers, and engineering staff to maximize new or existing product reliability and to minimize cost.

  • Diagnose and analyze quality problems such as scrap and rework. Establish causes and identify equipment and personnel necessary to provide acceptable quality levels - provide assistance to resolve problems.

  • Develop and recommend standards and methods for gauges, inspection procedures, and testing equipment to minimize cost and improve quality through defect prevention.

  • Analyze new product runs. Provide manufacturing and engineering with mechanical and electrical data on new product runs. Participate in design review on new or existing products to assure ease of inspection.

  • Recommend and coordinate quality improvement programs such as the gage control program, calibration schedules, quality planning, and quality cost analysis with the manufacturing plants to provide the basis for permanent resolutions to chronic quality problems.

  • Mentor and hold accountable all members of Quality Department; responsible for regular evaluation and drive performance expectations of QE and other Quality department members

  • Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over material, facilities, and products.

  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability.

  • Investigate and analyze customer complaints regarding quality.

  • Plan, design, and schedule quality control studies such as capability studies, control tests, methods, measurements, and techniques.

  • Review plant compliance with SEIM and CQC policies and report findings.

  • Provide audits of products and processes to maximize efficiency of quality personnel, emphasize prevention.

  • Clarify and describe blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements to production personnel. Request clarification corrections via ECO request.

  • Maintain inter-plant inspections on parts manufactured for other plants – remove

  • Provide first article inspections and reports on first builds of all new models.

  • Arrange plant audits, tours, and surveys for customers. Present quality system to customers.

  • Provide supplier evaluation assistance to production control.

  • Review new and revised engineering specifications for application and clarity. Provide feedback to engineering

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (degree in Industrial Engineering preferred)

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)

  • Minimum five to ten years as quality manager

  • Knowledgeable of Quality Management Systems and processes (ISO 9001, audit certification desired)

  • Experience and certification in LEAN principles desired

  • Project Management Experience (PMP certification) desirable

  • Proven understanding of technology and work process flows

  • Strong analytical and problem solving (e.g. 8 D) skills required

  • Strong team leadership, organizational and management skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to interact with a large number of people at variety of levels within and outside of the reporting structure
