Ford Motor Company OTA Triage Test Engineer in Mexico

Triage Test Engineers will focus on system level triage, troubleshooting, and defect root cause analysis of embedded systems SW within Product Development.

  • Analysis of log files to root cause and characterize software defects

  • Utilization of defect management systems to triage and track defects

  • Collaboration with development teams to investigate and help resolve software defects

  • Provide feedback to test teams for creation and/or execution of test cases

  • Report status of triaged results

  • Contribute to team deliverables through involvement in agile scrum development sprints.eliverables through involvement in agile scrum development sprints.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Ability to understand SW architecture documents.

  • 4 Years of experience with analyzing logs and root cause analysis.

  • Fundamental experience with white box SW testing

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Linux and/or QNX, shell scripting, SSH, etc.

  • Experience with defect tracking systems (JIRA, Bugzilla, Rally, or equivalent)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a multi-site team environment where self-driven and self-motivate capabilities are key qualities

Prefferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in structural and behavioral UML diagrams

  • Experience with Test Case management systems (ie: TestRail), CI/CD pipeline system (ie: Jenkins) and source code versioning control systems (GitHub)

  • Wide experience with modems and/or wireless technologies

  • Extensive understanding of CAN bus technologies & tools

  • SW development experience
