Google Import Classification Program Manager (English, Spanish) in Mexico

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience working in an in-house trade compliance classification role.

  • Experience classifying high-tech, telecommunication commodities.

  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, Logistics, and Legal stakeholders.

  • Experience with Brazil NVE and Ex-tarifário processes.

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with frequent and rapid priority changes.

  • Ability to communicate in Portuguese fluently in order to effectively communicate in this role that requires cross-functional partnership with teammates and external suppliers in Brazil.

As a member of the Global Import Classification team, you will provide technical expertise on import classification analysis, provide operational import compliance guidance, develop classification systems, and ensure that imports meet corporate/regulatory compliance standards to the LATAM region.

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the Latin America import classification program and serve as a classification subject matter expert for the Latin America region, providing global classification support as needed.

  • Publish applicable classification operational metrics and partner with the business to develop and implement solutions for identified classification opportunities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders as well as with suppliers to obtain requisite product information needed to perform accurate import and export classifications.

  • Provide classification guidance and clearance instructions to customs brokers and exercise requisite oversight.

  • Partner with trade compliance legal to address any Latin America trade compliance queries/actions.
