Ford Motor Company Calibration Engineer in Mexico

VPSE Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing and validating propulsion systems calibration for internal combustion engines to be used in gasoline only or hybrid vehicles.

  • Plan and lead vehicle propulsion systems calibration development and validation for a specific feature of the propulsion control system (combustion, drivability, diagnostics, emissions control, among others)

  • Liaison with integration teams, software development teams and other vehicle teams

  • Calibration and development of leading edge aftertreatment, diagnostics, communication or drivability technologies for vehicle propulsion systems to meet global regulatory and Ford requirements

  • Evaluate and assess vehicle attributes (performance, fuel economy, emissions, diagnostics, noise) in vehicle and laboratories/engine dynamometer

  • Design and conduct tests to validate engine and vehicle fuel economy, performance, emissions, and diagnostics

  • Lead testing and development at remote locations in the US but not limited to it

  • Develop detailed project plans that embrace all elements of the different control features (fuel, spark, air, emissions, diagnostics, drivability, common features, functional safety).

  • Manage the project to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved as defined by global product development system

  • Manage the definition, communication, and resolution of issues with internal stakeholders

  • Ability to guide software and control system areas in the development of effective engineering solutions

  • Interface with the program team to report progress

  • Excellent math, science, technology, and IT skills
