Vectrus Publications Specialist Technical Librarian in Kuwait

Overview

This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP

Under the supervision of Maintenance Manager, the Publications Specialist, Lead and/or Technical Inspector, Lead is responsible for the operation, maintenance and upkeep of both the government owned technical library and the publications account.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Manages, maintains, and care for current publications of technical manuals on/for current equipment as a backup to the electronic manual library (located on the project’s intranet site).

  • Researches, orders, and maintain the most current updates/ changes and required manuals, forms, tags, changes, CD-ROMs, etc., through APD/LOGSA on equipment being repaired on the project.

  • Provides customer service assistance on research, printing, sign-out, tags, forms, order requests, etc. Customers include Army, other base commands and commands in Europe and USA.

  • Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, take charge and display initiative in all job tasks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. These include QC department backup for administration (status reports, admin mail runs, and administrative tasks). Assist in supply orders and hand receipt inventories.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License

  • Experience:

  • 3 years of experience with military publications and forms

  • Skills:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint and Access

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within and outside of the company

  • Must be able to work under pressure, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and have excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Must demonstrate the company's core ethical values of respect, integrity and responsibility in daily work and activities

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
