V2X Computer Service Technician in Kuwait

Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP

The Computer Service Technician applies understanding, knowledge, and guidance of information systems hardware and software to provide problem resolution, problem diagnosis and solutions in a service center environment; clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly professional manner. They are responsible for recognizing, researching, isolating and resolving first level information systems problems for appropriate service, repairs, training and follow-up. Also performs technical inspections for all work processed in the Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) Bench. Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical maintenance and service for all ADPE equipment.

  • Evaluate equipment for malfunctions and deficiencies.

  • Performs baseline procedures, and hardware replacement.

  • Work closely with the Systems Support Specialist, Lead (SSSL) to determine serviceability of workstations, monitors, printers, servers, and other computer peripherals.

  • Is responsible for all final technical inspections and ensures the appropriate status entry is made in the work order tracking system.

  • Performs monthly UBL inventories and assist with cyclical property inventories.

  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

  • Overview:

  • Education/Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret Clearance

  • A valid drivers license and the ability to obtain U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operation's License and Host Nations Driver's License, is required.

  • Meets requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for privileged access (IAT-I) to ISs CompTIA Security+ and Microsoft 365 Certified Modern Desktop Administrator or Server+ is required IAW DoD 8570.1-M.

  • Applicants must be Baseline & Computing Environment certified prior to hire in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M.

  • A+ Certification preferred

  • Experience:

  • 3+ years of related experience.

  • Major Job Activities:

  • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.

  • Possess Advanced PC technical support skills

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Must be proficient using the latest version of Microsoft Office

  • Experience using Maximo work order system or similar system

  • Pursuant to KRH subcontract English competency levels:

  • Reading ability – level 3

  • Speaking ability – level 3

  • Writing ability – level 3

  • Material & Equipment Directly Used:

  • Personal computer, printers, network equipment and electronic test equipment and other general office equipment.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

  • Visual Acuity:

  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.

  • Working Conditions:

  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
