Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center (BKETC) is seeking a high potential Software Engineer (Virtualization) to join our R&D team in Seoul, Korea . Come join the Software Organization at Boeing as we enable the next generation of aerospace design and development!

The Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center (BKETC) is seeking an individual to develop and support virtual machines. This work includes developing emulations of key embedded systems for use on multiple platforms for Boeing commercial and defense products. Specifically, this role will be an individual who will contribute to activities related to the development and integration of test environments, virtual machines, models and simulations in the creation of high-fidelity digital twins.

The ideal candidate enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-program environment. This position will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. The candidate should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be able to work independently or as part as a team.

  • Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.

  • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

  • Supports software project management and software supplier management functions.

  • Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics.

  • Performs software research and trade studies.

  • Troubleshoots software issues.

  • Works under general supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience programming with C,C++ Experience working in an Agile software development environment

  • Software and/or hardware development experience

  • Proper English communication skill in verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Computer Architecture fundamentals, including microprocessor, instruction set, memory hierarchy, memory mapped I/O, interrupts

  • Experience in Windows, Linux and real-time operating systems

  • Understanding of Unix System programming concepts

  • Socket, Pipes, Shared memory, Process, Threads

  • Experience with ARM, PowerPC, or x86 microprocessor architectures

  • Experience with development or debugging of bootloaders

  • Experience with networking protocols

  • Experience with embedded system peripherals and protocols such as i2c, SPI, RS-232, SATA, IDE, PCI, Flash Memory

  • Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 664

  • Experience with scripting languages, e.g. Python, Bash

  • Experience in Git, Jira and with software development in Visual Studio Code

  • Hands on experience in Virtualization technologies, e.g. KVM, QEMU

Typical Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with typically 1 or more years' experience in an engineering classification.

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
