We're looking for an individual who possesses an in-depth understanding of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript – an individual who can navigate the world of WordPress with precision and finesse. In this role, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and updating plugins.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop, customize and maintain WordPress CMS websites using best practices and industry-standard plugins

  • Work with WordPress at a PHP code level and effectively utilize MySQL for database management

  • Demonstrate proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery

  • Utilize existing inbuilt WordPress functions and implement customizations to support specific functionality

  • Create custom post types, plugins and widgets adhering to WordPress coding standards

  • Produce clean, well-documented and reusable code while ensuring logical and efficient development practices

  • Integrate themes/templates and ensure seamless visual and functional integration

  • Stay up to date with the latest WordPress core, plugin & theme updates and possess the ability to perform upgrades

  • Ensure cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility and resolve any related issues

  • Develop user interfaces for websites and web applications, focusing on responsive design principles

  • Interact with RESTful APIs and work with formats like JSON and XML

  • Utilize code versioning tools, such as Git or SVN, for efficient collaboration and project management

  • Possess knowledge of various PHP frameworks, libraries and technologies relevant to WordPress Multisite

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of PHP back-end development

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Strong proficiency in WordPress, PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML and JavaScript

  • Ability to develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch based on client requirements

  • Familiarity with popular WordPress frameworks, libraries and tools

  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git

  • Proficiency in responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility

  • Understanding of SEO best practices and website optimization techniques
