Vectrus Accounting Specialist I (LN) in India

Overview

Under broad direction performs a full range of duties related to processing a variety of financial

transactions in support of operations with computerized accounting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with reconciling assigned Balance Sheet Accounts including bank reconciliation.

  • Assists with ensuring the subsidiary ledgers are reconciled with the control accounts.

  • Assists with review of the accounts receivable on a monthly or periodic basis.

  • Prepares end of month journal entries.

  • Coordinates with Cost Accounting for completion of monthly journal entries, general ledger account analysis and other assigned actions.

  • Ensures compliance with accounting and audit standards including DCAA, SOX GAAP and FAR.

  • Prepares and uploads advices to HQ and other programs and upload to SharePoint.

  • Keep tracks of all journal entries on the monthly JV list.

  • Responsible for filing all GL documentation.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business Administration with related majors.

  • Experience:

  • Two or more years of experience in Finance or Accounting. Additional experience with cost accounting preferred.

  • Understanding of program operations and related project controls.

  • Skills & Technology Used:

  • Knowledge of US and international accounting standards, accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of international audit standards is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of management accounting fundamentals and demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge.

  • Working knowledge of best practices in the professional field of accounting.

  • Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and general ledger processing and their inter-relationships.

  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of accounting specific software, AS400 and JAMIS.

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Requires ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written, at an intermediate or advanced level.

  • Working Environment:

  • Work is generally conducted in an office environment. However, duties may occasionally involve working outside with a potential exposure to extreme temperatures. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
