Main Purpose of Role:

  • Responsible for assisting in providing Compliance advisory to all businesses and functions across MUS Asia.

  • Responsible for the monitoring and surveillance functions.

  • Responsible for the control room functions.

Job Descriptions:

  • Assist in the review of existing or drafting of new policies and procedures to comply with the prevailing rules and regulations; proposing to Head of Compliance on new/revised policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and control framework.

  • Conduct regular compliance review on different business areas and prepare Compliance report to the Head of Compliance and local Management.

  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory and Compliance-related advice across MUS Asia businesses and across the MUS international business platform.

  • Assist in the maintenance of information barriers between different businesses including but not limiting to conduct conflict of interest check, maintenance of watch and restricted lists, maintenance of insiders list.

  • Assist in managing the monitoring and surveillance programs for MUS Asia.

  • Assist in assignments and projects as required by the Compliance Department to ensure the effective dispensation of the function's responsibilities.

  • Take lead in handling special projects and assignments

  • Comply with, and ensure all staff in the Department/on the Desk comply with, the Company's policies and procedures as well as all rules and laws emanating from the Company's direct Regulator or any other regulatory authority relevant to the business being conducted including, but not limited to, the MAS, the HK SFC, Australia ASIC, UK PRA and FCA

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant University degree holder (MBA, law, finance, accounting or economics) will be an advantage.

  • Over 10 years’ experience gained within the compliance function of an investment bank including at least 3 years’ managing others.

  • Able to problem solving in a creative and commercial and practical way.

  • Take a proactive / value add approach to provide compliance advice for new business products.

  • An ability to assist the Head of Compliance? to lead and manage and familiar with all SFC and MAS rules and regulations.

  • Preferably experience of dealing in multiple countries in Asia.

  • Excellent communication skill and interpersonal skills in written and spoken English, and preferably in Chinese.

  • Able to manage the team in proactive and motivated approach.

  • Good product knowledge in both capital and global markets.
