As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced GIS Lead to spearhead our geospatial initiatives and develop our external presence in the marketplace alongside building our Spatial Analytics offering aligned with Data Science and Machine Learning.

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Lead with industry-leading experience to lead our geospatial team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing our geospatial strategy, harnessing the power of intelligence to drive decision-making and enhance our offerings. The ideal candidate should have a distinguished reputation within the geospatial community, evidenced by a track record of speaking engagements at conferences, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and contributions to thought leadership articles or blogs on GIS-related topics.

As the GIS Digital Lead, you will oversee the management of the GIS team within the Data and Digital Advisory service line. Leading a diverse team of approximately 40 staff across the UK and India, you will champion a culture of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes. Your role requires not only strong technical proficiency but also the ability to mentor others and serve as a role model within the team.

Initiative and innovation are central to success in this position, so you must exhibit a genuine passion for GIS and remain abreast of industry trends. You will be expected to proactively introduce new ideas and efficiencies to the Senior Leadership Team, advocating for their implementation to enhance the service line's value proposition. You will play a pivotal role in providing consultancy and advisory services in GIS to clients, leveraging your expertise to offer strategic insights and solutions that address their unique geospatial challenges and opportunities. Furthermore, your ability to effectively communicate the benefits of these innovations to both internal stakeholders and external clients will be critical in driving adoption and delivering impactful solutions.

  • Expertise in GIS Software: Proficiency in using ESRI, ArcGIS, QGIS or other relevant platforms.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges related to geospatial data and analysis.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and manage a team of GIS professionals effectively.

  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in geospatial analysis, data management, and cartography.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex GIS concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Project Management: Experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting for GIS projects.

  • Client Management: Experience in engaging with clients, understanding their requirements, and delivering GIS solutions that meet their needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, or related field.

  • Member of a relevant professional institution

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the geospatial industry.

  • Expertise in geospatial technologies, including GIS software, spatial databases, and web mapping platforms.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex geospatial data.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
