Eaton Corporation Business Development Manager - Energy Transition (EVCI, storage, software) - Real Estate segment in France

For our Energy Transition and Digitalization business unit in the EMEA region, we are looking for a Business Development Manager who will engage with Real Estate segment customers across the region, to further explore business opportunities for storage, electric vehicle charging and software.

Being a commercial position (and not a technical one), in this role you will connect with a broad internal and external ecosystem of partners, with the Goal to design, pilot, and implement innovative Energy Transition business models, with a focus on X as a service (XasS) model. Technical support for solution preparation is provided by local and regional engineering teams.

These business models are designed to enable the organization to differentiate, increase market share in energy solutions, increase the value added to our customers and deliver recurring revenue models for the division.

In this role, you will test the new models, and engage with our broader organization to assess their feasibility. Alongside the Director of Business Development and Transformation and the regional Key Account Managers, you will then negotiate with customers or partners, the co-development and piloting of opportunities, and finally help scale the successful new solutions in our portfolio.

Travel rate across Europe: 25-35% of the working time

Responsibilities:

  • Come with a solid understanding of the market dynamics competitive activity, key jobs-to-be-done, & whitespace opportunities in the Energy Transition and Digitalization space

  • Coordinate the pipeline of identified business opportunities

  • Act as hands-on and lead early-on experimentation and validation of new opportunities

  • Facilitate brainstorming, customer co-creation workshops, sprints, and workshops to create and evaluate new and innovative business models

  • Communicate effectively to senior levels on business opportunities

  • Transfer customers that become mature to Key Account Managers and support the transition

  • Identify partners, create and manage the external ecosystem around the X-as-a-Service offering

  • Develop an ecosystem of Consulting providers, who can bring us new end-customers or complete our offering

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • An average of 6-8+ years of experience in commercial strategy development, business development, deal structuring, commercial modeling, or relevant consultancy projects

  • Real Estate industry experience is highly preferred

  • Knowhow or exposure to industry/application of EVCI and/or Storage, Microgrid or Energy management software is a plus as this is not a technical role

  • Commercial/Financial Savvy (ideally with an MBA or some finance coursework, but not a must)

  • A proactive mind-set, with desire for clear accountability and ownership

  • Eager to evolve in a fast-paced environment

  • Ready for transparency & risk management

  • Driven to work in a highly international environment / in virtual teams / in a matrix organization

  • Solid communications skills and ready to convince and close deals

  • Fluent in written and spoken English is required due to a high level of international exposure

  • Ready to travel across the region 25-35%% of the working time
