Red Hat Senior Architect - Application Development, Germany (m/f/d) in Germany
Job Summary
The Red Hat Services team is looking for a Senior Consulting Architect to join us in Germany. In this role, you will focus on the core around the processes necessary to promote the adoption of Red Hat Technologies, either through migration or modernization of customer environments. You’ll work closely with the Consulting, Sales, and Presales teams to achieve your goals. You will serve as a customer advocate to architect the right solutions and to ensure that those solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way. You’ll be expected to learn our offerings quickly, especially Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
As a Senior Architect, your tasks will include helping customers to understand their current and desired state of container and cloud-native application adoption. Ultimate success in the role is to help customers reach their desired state through the use of the Red Hat technology and services portfolio. You’ll need to have technical software development expertise, a passion for open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and create business value at the enterprise level. In addition, you’ll need to have a working knowledge of agile project methodologies and DevOps and technologies.
What you will do
Deliver successful discovery, analysis, and design workshops for small to medium teams of technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and influence customer use cases and architecture design decisions
Team with our customers to lead the design and implementation of applications using modern appdev practices and open source emerging technologies. Here are just a few of the domains we cover:
Microservices, API management, and web-scale architectures
DevOps engineering and application delivery
Container-based continuous delivery
Cloud automation, and everything-as-code
Apply analysis and define modernization strategies from Red Hat’s Application Services portfolio e.g. Quarkus, Fuse, KNative
Scope delivery projects and guide customers through successful pilot and production deployments
Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk
Address the customer’s technical, development, and strategic IT requirements as the main point of contact for Red Hat’s professional services
Use industry practices and Red Hat's policies and procedures to solve diverse problems
Demonstrate subject matter expertise in middleware, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and cloud-native application community by producing whitepapers, webinars, etc. and speaking at seminars and conferences
What you will bring
10+ years of experience working in an application architect, solutions architect, enterprise architect, or architect consulting delivery role
Proven record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT operations and engineering professionals and business executives
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; extensive experience presenting even to C-level executives
Background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain
Extensive knowledge of OpenShift or other Kubernetes solutions
Knowledge of application runtimes, enterprise container architectures, patterns and solutions, Linux, and deploying and running container solutions in private, public, and hybrid clouds
Experience in application development, modernization and enterprise application architecture, including microservices
Experience in delivering applications to production with Java development technologies and frameworks such as python, NodeJS, Dot net etc.
Experience with configuring and consuming modern application delivery tools, in development and deployment of applications to production
Good presentation and communication skills in English and German
Knowledge of and operational experience with new services methodologies related to next generation application migration and modernization, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), or agile and DevOps
Fluency in German and English is mandatory
Willingness to travel 30-35% of the time with Germany
