Delbridge Solutions Inc. Business System Analyst in Costa Rica

The Technical Systems Analyst or Business System Analyst will be operating within the AWS environment, and is responsible for analyzing business processes, system configuration, testing, and support within the Actuarial Technology team. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication and analytical skills, with proficiency in SQL, Power BI, AWS, and Python. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, interpreting business requirements, and adhering to software development processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with actuarial processes and AWS capabilities.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of AWS services and configurations to optimize system functionality, improve efficiency, and meet specific business needs.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures to ensure the reliability and integrity of systems, reporting any issues and proposing solutions.

  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot system performance and operational issues, and work proactively to implement effective solutions.

  • Monitor and assess system performance continuously, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency enhancements.

    Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support business analysis activities as a member of a team.

  • Independently execute assigned tasks.

  • Investigate system configuration options to provide functional expertise when developing solutions to meet business requirements; develop strategies to use standard functionality to meet business needs whenever possible.

  • Collaborate with various teams and coordinate work efforts when addressing new implementations, functionality enhancements, application updates, and performance issues.

    Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills: SQL and Power BI.

  • Ability to understand and interpret business requirements and technical specifications.

  • Experience of working with AWS services.

  • Exposure to the AWS DB tools landscape: Redshift, Lambda, Athena, S3, Glue.

  • Experience with Python. 

  • Understanding of programming and systems architecture.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering preferred but not required – other majors are acceptable.

  • Other Comments: Experience with insurance industry and/or actuarial systems and processes is a plus.
